Sinus Augmentation
When replacing posterior teeth with dental implants Dr. Chaston occasionally finds that the sinus cavity is too close to the implant site preventing implant placement. Sinus augmentation is a simple bone grafting technique used to improve the quantity of bone in the area and therefore allow implant placement.
Often, a sinus augmentation can be performed at the same appointment the implant is placed. There are different techniques available to accomplish sinus grafting, the method utilized depends on the amount of bone regeneration that is needed.
